I have met Martin Lee. He is 82, a man of faith, a champion of democracy and a man of peace. This should not be happening. I encourage people to protest to Minister @simoncoveney and to the Chinese Ambassador @ChinaEmbIreland https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/31/world/asia/hong-kong-democracy-protest.html?smid=tw-share

Sad but not surprising. China is a greater risk to our freedom than the USSR ever was. We are not yet willing or able to unhook the drip of Chinese lending, investment and trade. It will get worse. https://www.independent.ie/news/rtejournalist-flees-china-with-family-over-threats-to-her-bbc-correspondent-husband-40261115.html
